Dessert with wheat and dried fruits

Десерт с жито и сушени плодове
Products required for 8-10 servings:
  • 250g of Hulled Wheat “ARTE”
  • 200g of Powdered Sugar “ARTE”
  • 700ml. of Milk
  • 40g. of Dried Peaches
  • 40g. of Dried Prunes
  • 50g. almonds
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 lemon peel
  • Vanilla and Salt
  • 15 g ground pistachios for decoration + fresh fruit

Recipe

The wheat is washed well, placed in a deep bowl and covered with 2-3 fingers of water, boiled for about 40 minutes on low heat until it cracks and softens. Add fresh milk, finely chopped dried fruits and almonds, add salt and vanilla for flavoring. Boil for another 10-15 minutes and pour into suitable cups or bowls. After cooling, sprinkle with pistachios and garnish with fresh fruit if desired. Store in the refrigerator.
